It was another successful day for Bromsgrove and Redditch young athletes at the final fixture of the West Midlands Young Athletes’ Cross Country League at Perry Barr, Birmingham on Sunday February 14th. Medals were awarded for the top individual performers (with the best 4 performances out of the 5 races counting) and the best teams (over the 5 races).

Top of the pile was Conor Smith who improved from second last year to win the individual under 17 men’s title. He also won the final league race on Sunday.

Ellen Bowen continued her good form and was second in the overall under 15 girls competition and second in Sunday’s race. Alice Battey and Anna Nicod were also individual medal winners coming 4th and 6th overall and finishing 4th and 8th respectively in Sunday’s race. The under 15 girls team finished second overall having won four out of the five fixtures, they only lost out on the championship by failing to close a team of 5 in the first fixture.
