Once the fog lifted the sun was shining but it was cool enough for some potential impressive times although the course was muddy and slippery in places. Nearly 130 runners lined up ready for the challenging hilly 8.5m ahead. The lead runner Mark Tanner set off leading the runners around the field and up the first set of hills at to the first field up the hills. There was plenty of encouragement from the marshals along the course and Mark was passed towards the end by Matt Biggs who opened up a 50 second lead to win in a sub 1 hour time.
It was a fine finish for all runners unfortunately with one runner who his turned ankle on the final downhill who limped to the finish make sure he didn’t DNF. All the runners were cheered home to get an excellent medal and goody bag with many joining in for the awards after as well as the home made cakes, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Well done everyone and special thanks to the organisers, marshals (nearly 40 of you) and the runners for making this such a great day.
