Membership Costs
· Membership is paid annually from January 1st each year (U20s – £66/ Seniors – £86)
· The membership fees also includes the mandatory £20 England Athletics (EA) affiliation fee.
· New members joining throughout the year will pay a ProRata club fee +£20 EA fee.

Q&As
- Are there waiting lists?
- There are waiting lists currently for some of our training groups. The waiting list size will vary depending on which group the athlete will join. By filling out the enquiry form we will be able to place the athlete in the suitable group to support their athletics. Waiting lists are commonly within our junior groups.
- How will I know if I am on a waiting list?
- If you are going to be on a waiting list we will inform you when we respond to your enquiry. The length of time you may need to wait will be discussed when we respond to your enquiry.
- What is included In my membership fee?
- Your membership fee will include fully coached training sessions all year round, access to the athletics track at the Ryland Centre and Abbey stadium during our allocated training times, free entry into club league competitions, becoming a registered athlete with England Athletics.
- Are there any additional charges I need to expect?
- Additional charges will include purchasing a club vest in order you to compete in competition. We also have optional club kit which can be ordered at various times throughout the year. Please note you will need to purchase appropriate athletics footwear / clothing to take part in our training sessions.
- Are our coaches qualified?
- All coaches are qualified to the standards required by England Athletics. This includes a full DBS and safeguarding requirements.
- Typically how many athletes are in a group?
- Group sizes can vary depending on what type of athlete you are (Middle Distance runner, Field athlete, Road runner etc) and what age you are (Junior or Senior). Typically an average group size is from 5 to 20.
- Do our training groups have a mixture of ages / gender?
- Yes…our groups will have a mixture of ages and gender within each group. Juniors will be grouped in tighter age brackets compared to senior groups.
- Do I have to attend training on a regular basis?
- Yes, as a member of B&RAC we would expect you to attend the training sessions you have committed to each week. As we do have waiting lists for some groups, if attendance is not consistent or the coach is not informed as to why, your membership may be removed to allow others to join the group.
- If I cannot attend training do I need to let someone know in advance?
- Yes, please ensure your coach is aware if you are not able to attend the scheduled training session. This will help the coach plan the group session correctly.
- What time should I arrive at training?
- Training begins from 6pm at the Ryland Centre and Abbey Stadium. Your coach will confirm specific times you may need to arrive in readiness for the session. Please ensure you allow some time before the start of the session to get ready.
- What time would you expect training to finish?
- Most / if not all training sessions are completed by 8pm on the scheduled training nights. Your coach will let you know in advance if the finish time will be different.
- Do you take part in any training away from the Abbey Stadium / Ryland Centre?
- Yes, some groups will train away from the athletics track at the Ryland Centre and Abbey Stadium. Commonly sessions away from the tracks will be held on safe pavements / road routes. At certain times of the year (mainly summer months) sessions may also be on the grass at other locations away from the tracks.
- Do I need to provide my own appropriate clothing / footwear to train in?
- Yes, you will need to have appropriate footwear and clothing for training. This applies to all athletic disciplines. Below we have provided the England Athletics website which contains useful information.
- Do I need to provide my own high visibility clothing on dark evenings?
- Yes, high visibility clothing is required during Spring, Autumn and Winter months regardless of where the athlete is training. High visibility clothing is also recommended during summer months, but not essential. Be safe…be seen.
- How do I order club kit / club vest?
- Andrew Freeman looks after our club kit and club vest orders. He can be contacted via [email protected]. Club Kit shopping windows are announced throughout the year and communicated via email / social media.
- How much is it to buy club kit / club vest?
- The prices for the club kit range from £20-£50 depending on what item/s are being ordered. There also options to personalise your club kit when placing orders.
- Am I expected to compete for Bromsgrove and Redditch in competitions?
- B&RAC is a competitive Club and enters teams / individuals into competition for Track & Field, Road and Cross Country. If therefore you are invited to join us, membership will be on the understanding that you will compete regularly for the Club. Failure to compete may result in membership being withdrawn.
