Bromsgrove and Redditch AC were represented at the 2015 Coventry Godiva Classic, competing in the boy’s and girl’s mile races, and the seated club throw.

On Saturday 22nd August a group of young athletes from Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletics Club competed in Under 17 and Under 15 mile races in the Godiva Classic event at the Warwick University track.
The Under 15 women’s race was a battle between Ellen Bowen and Alice Battey who finished 1st and 2nd respectively with Ellen setting an new club age record of 5 minutes 41.17 seconds. They were backed up by Ellie Moss who came home in 6th place despite picking up an injury during the race.
The Under 17 men’s race was won easily by Conor Smith who stormed away from the field over the last 2 laps.
The Under 15 men’s race resulted in a victory for Tom Deykin thanks to an excellent final lap and sprint finish. Josh Robins (an Under 13 athlete) came a creditable 4th setting a club age record thanks to a solid performance. Alex Roberts who like Ellie Moss picked up an injury in the course of the race finished in 6th place.
An evening of excellent performances in a quality event.
